the Community Church Launch
September 15th 2024
Great news!
Ross is going to get a new Community Church in the middle of Sainsburys carpark. After weeks of refurbishment the old church building that has stood there since 1859, is officially reopening as the Community Church (Forest & Wye).
Three years ago the church was on the brink of closure. Since then we have built up a nucleus of people of all ages who are excited to be officially launching the Ross location of the Community Church on Sunday 15th September at 10.30am.

Over recent weeks the old church building has been undergoing refurbishment, but it is not only the building that is different. Sunday services are relaxed, a fresh brew of coffee is served from 10am and modern technology is utilised to enhance the experience. It is a great place to explore faith, have a fresh start and ideal for those who have struggled with traditional church. The aim is to make the bible accessible and show its relevance to a new generation.
Many are asking searching questions as they see the difficulties in our troubled world. One question that keeps coming up is, “What on earth am I here for?” On the launch Sunday everyone who comes will receive a free copy of the best-selling book, Purpose Driven Life and the service will then dig into that question of our purpose.
One of the different features of the new church is that Sunday services will be linked to the Community Church in Cinderford where Tim has pastored for the last 19 years. Using modern technology part of each service will come live from Ross and part live from Cinderford on the big screen. This will enable them to share resources and feel part of a wider community. The church has trialled this over the last year and found it to be very effective and enhancing the experience for worshippers.
If you have not been to church for a while but fancy a reboot to your spiritual life you are welcome to come along to the launch service on Sunday 15th September at 10.30am.
